Drafting Steps:

1-2 = Full Length - belt width of 2"

2-3 = 10-12" for gathers (churis)

3-4 = 1" for hem

1-5 = Crotch length - belt width of 2" + 2.5" (ease)

1-6 = 1/3 Round Hips + 3"

5-7 = Same as 1-6 join 7-6

7-8 = 1/12 Round hips + 1".

Draw crotch curve joining 8-6 (see image)

9= For knee point, take 1/2 distance from crotch to Actual length (from 5 to 2). 10= Between knee point to Actual Length (i.e. from 9 to 2), mark midpoint as calf point.

9-11= Mark knee point as 1/2 Round knee + 1"

10-12= Mark 1/2 Round Calf + 1"

2-13, 3-14, & 4-15 = 1/2 of ankle round.

Join the points 8,11,12 with a curve and 13,14,15 with straight line.

Note: Add Seam Allowance extra. 1/2" at crotch line and 1" at inside seam line.

Some Points to consider:

Ø Fabric Required 2.5 Mtrs’ length & width of 44".

Ø When you are marking the pattern directly on fabric, first straighten the fabric by slightly stretching it diagonally to align the warp & weft.

Ø Iron the fabric to remove crease prior to marking and place the draft.

Ø if you are a beginner, prefer making the paper draft first, then pin it to fabric.

Sewing Steps:

- Attach both leg Front crotch line, Back crotch line together by keeping the wrong surface on topside and lower. [right side fabric surface faces each other]

- Finish bottom line by folding 1/2".

- Join the sides by leaving 1" seam allowance from one end to other end by facing wrong surface on upper and lower.[right side fabric surface faces each other]

-after joining inside side seam, finish the edges by overlock.

-Attach waist band of 1" width. you can attach waistband with string or you can add elastic.

-To make waistband, mark waist band height of 3". measure pant waist after attaching front and back, mark accordingly and add 1/2" on both side for seam allowance to join. while joining leave gap of .5" to insert string[which faces front side of pant]. fold waistband at center[1.5"] attach from inside of the pant , turn it up to right side and fold the edge of the band by 1/2" and join by Pointed/edge stitch by placing upon the stitch line.
